Possible to open laptop without leaving fingerprints on the screen?

Wondering if it’s possible to open up the lid of the laptop without leaving a big fingerprint right on the edge of the screen or over the camera.

It can be done if you are careful. Otherwise, you can use a microfiber cloth or gloves while opening it.

They need a remote to open the lid... they could design it like the AppleTV remote... so useful... and yet, not.

Jokes aside, you really have to be VERY careful not to touch the screen. I hate fingerprints on my screen and I try so much not to touch it when opening the Air, but they're still there.

I've tried pretty much everything on opening the screen lid and just impossible for me to not somehow get a smudge or fingerprint in the webcam/bezel area. No big deal, just have to wipe it off when I use the webcam...which is next to almost never

Sounds like your wife has a software bug. Try a fresh install. That usually fixes a lot of problems.

Get a case, so that you have more area to grip on that is not the display, or keep a cloth near the laptop and use that when opening it. Or just use it to clean the display.

well all the years people have been raging about ugly "big bezels", that Apple should reduce them, and so on. But there are always drawbacks in everything...

With my MBP 2015, the bezels are big enough and I do not touch the screen

Thin, flexible, tactile gloves. You can't open a laptop with big, fluffy Bernie mittens on.

A bit late, but solved this problem by just turning the macbook. Hope this helps
