Okay umm my friend bought a 13" MBP (April 2010) from someone at a cheaper price, but that person didn't provide the original installation disks. I have a Snow Leopard Disc which I bought for $50 as an upgrade from Leopard. Any chance that can be used to reset the password?

My SL disk is version is 10.6.0 though while the MBP's factory version is 10.6.4. Will it still work?

you can also use login as root and use
Code:
passwd <yourname>
at the command line if it comes to that
