just bought an iphone 5S with iOS7 a couple days ago and updated the iOS to 8 this morning..

After the update, system fonts now appear larger, bolder in Contacts, Notes, Mail, etc. (without any accessibility features activated)

...which for some reason isn't as readable for me as in iOS7. Overall iOS8 feels more crowded...

Is it possible to revert back?

cheers!

Yes. As long as Apple still signing IOS 7.1.2. If you want to do it, you should do it fast. Apple probably will stop signing really soon, like one or two days

I want to do that 🙂 ...can you point me to instructions for this? Thanks for your help!

You just need to download the iOS 7.1.2 .ipsw file from internet then turn off your find my iPhone. Then use iTunes to do restore. When you do the restore, you need to press option and click restore on Mac or shift and click restore on Windows.
