possible to run python on 10.5 or 10.5 on old PPC macs?

i have small stack of PPC Minis and possibly some more G5s. I'd give it away if i could but, since it's not so likely to find anyone i was thinking of what kind of servers i could set them up as. PPC versions of linux are a given but, then i wondered if it's possible to run python apps on 10.4 or 10.5?

Take a look at http://MacPorts.org - download and install Macports 2.4.2 for 10.4 or 10.5 and then run 'sudo port install python' which will download and compile the latest version for your PowerPC Mac.
