Possible to subscribe to a user?

Hi MacRumours,

Is there an easy way to be notified when a certain user comments on a thread that you've commented on, or is there anything similar to that? Sorry if it seems like an odd request

The new xenforum software will have a follow button, but I think it's the same as the friend feature the current forums have.

If someone is on your contact list, their posts will appear bold in the forum spy, but there is no way to get notifications whenever they post something.

You got me Meister, I've got a collection of their binned toenail clippings and brush hair. The last logical step, naturally, is following what they're doing on MacRumours

I'm not aware of this feature being available on the current forums, and when it migrates to xenforums, it appears the closest thing will be the ability to follow people and view their activity in a news feed. Following has worked for me, but viewing any sort of news feed has proved to be elusive.

Indeed. Technically, it is possible for the follow feature to be more like a subscription, but they don't have it enabled (or I cannot find it) in their current configuration of xenforums.
