Hey everyone,

I have a mid '09 13 in mbp, and I'm very happy with it.
But I'm not immune to apple/gadget lust, and the thing that strikes out most for me is the additional 3 hours of battery life (the 10 hour battery on the new mbp model).

Does anyone know if using the newer battery in last year's model is possible and will up the battery life, or is this even recommended?

Thanks!

Nobody knows, because we haven't gotten a teardown yet. However, the 10 hour battery life is due to a combination of hardware and software optimizations you'll never be able to get on your current machine anyways.

I would think it's more the new video card that is giving it better battery life. And possibly the cpu.
