I travel often and often times use Pre-Paid SIM when I go to Asia. Thailand, Korea, Vietnam, Japan, etc.

Would I be able to use my AW4 with a pre-paid sim card? I'm not sure how it works.

There is no sim slot on the watch, it's e-sim only. But beyond that, your watch cannot be activated or even roam on a network outside the country in which you bought it.

if your phone is working and has internet connection through the pre-paid sim, as long as the phone and watch are physically close to each other they will work.

if the phone is not close, your watch can join wi-fi networks,

you just won't be able to use the watch if you aren't close to phone or wifi.
**It might roam, which depending on your cell plan at home could be expensive, talk to your home carrier what charges might be incurred, and you should turn off the cellular in the watch settings, if you don't want to accidentally jump onto cell and find those charges on your bill.

waw74, I'm sorry but that's the ridiculous argument carriers and apple use to justify lack of roaming.
In that case you describe, the apple watch cellular is put simply an overpriced apple watch gps edition.

i'm not buying a cellular apple watch until i can roam with it (in the European Union roaming is free and included by law), or at least I can choose the esim I use with my watch.
