I just got a new ipad with touch ID. But I have no interest in locking my ipad with a passcode and such things. It only sits at home, I don't need security. But I do want to use apple pay with the touch ID. How do I do that?

    You need the passcode.

Why? I don't want to lock it up. No one is here to steal stuff.

Unfortunately, it's not currently possible. However, give TouchID a try. You may find it's faster than slide to unlock.

This will prompt you for passcode instead of TouchID so no go.

No, you cannot use it without a passcode or Touch ID lock.
It's a well known complaint for some.

Apple Pay isn't restricted to in-store purchases. You can use it in apps.

The iPad only allows for in-app use of Apple Pay. It doesn't have an NFC radio.

So when buying something, do you need to use Touch ID and input the passcode to authorise the payment?
