I talked to the sales rep today about upgrading even though I'm only a year and a bit into my contract be said he'd make some calls and tell me 10am tomorrow as to whether I'll get a deal of some sort.

I assume it involves resigning my contract

Ugh I want to go to sleep now (6:43 pm)so I can wake up and find out if I'm good for the 3GS

    wish me luck!!!!

I'm with rogers by the way

How much are you paying average per line on your account? If it is more than $99, you should be eligible. If not, still eligible...for +$200.

Well, if he says he cant help you out, weigh your options.

Some are adding a 2nd line via the Family plan for 9.99 a month and just having a dead line so to speak.

Basically, they are paying 200 for the phone plus 9.99 a month instead of having to pay the huge price for the phone up front.

Kind of like paying back a loan.

Are you referencing to Rogers? What's the ETF on a plan like that? I can always sell my 3G unlocked

    Dang, sorry.

I missed the Rogers part of your post and was talking about AT&T.

Not sure on Rogers' rules with regards to family plans and what not.

Good luck getting one though, and I hope they call you with good news. :D

Yikes. Why not just upgrade for the $250 less like I did?

    What I did:

$799 new iPhone 3G S 32GB (Rogers) - $250 for being on for over six months at UNDER $99, then sold iPhone 3G for $400. Getting the new one for about $150.

    Sell your 3G. ;)

I didn't want to sign into a 3 year 30$ a month data plan and I do plan on selling my 3G
