Ok, maybe I'm fudging with the "landmark" but in my neck of the woods this is darn near a place of worship:D . For those who don't recognize this is Sanford Stadium, University of Georgia in Athens Georgia. I've been to some college games (4 yrs of watching USC, that's University of Southern California not South Carolina) but never have I been to one that had so much atmosphere. The "tailgate" parties were unbelieveable! Also, I could not believe all the gorgeous coeds. I thought SC had the bragging rights but I was wrong. I can't remember ever going to a football game and seeing girls in dresses, heels, and makeup. Dressed to kill they were. Football is a bit different here in the South;) . I was there with my family. Oldest daughter was a senior @ UGA. BTW, this game was "Home Coming" in 04 Vandy and the Dawgs. Dawgs won.

BOOOO UGA....... Here is a REAL landmark photo...about 2.5 hours west of Athens lies a small town called AUBURN!!!!! WE are the TEAM TO BEAT BABY!!!! Why dont you show us the field after the past few AU/UGA games? ya, thats right, upload one from little ole Vandy! Gonna make it 5 in a row this year GA!!! JUST WAIT! WAR EAGLE!!

Definitely, I'm going to have to add some of my own in the neat future. I have far too many from all of my world travels, but I'll be sure to post a few at least.

Lake Titicaca is the second largest lake in S. America, Maracaibo being the largest. Specifically, it's located in the Andes Mountains next to Peru. My brother, (another globetrotter like myself!), backpacked throughout S. America for 3 months many years ago, and rafted down the Amazon, saw Titicaca and Maracibo.

I've got no beef with Auburn. Good school, good football team. The reason I used this photo was that my daughter went to UGA and invited the family to see a UGA football game. It was the only UGA game I've been to. (Did I mention that I saw USC games for four years. Hmmm, might indicate that I'm a USC grad. I am. Where was Auburn the past couple of years in the BCS? Yeah baby, go Trojans!) Admittedly, Vandy wasn't a powerhouse and that's probably why we could actually get tickets to the game. Had a great time and Sanford Stadium was pretty cool. Good luck to Auburn, better luck to the DAWGS!

Thanks for the info about Lake Titicaca.....yeah, I know I could've looked it up myself through Google or Wikipedia, but, hey -- nice to have responses right on here....

Getting a bit off topic here. I'll cease. Let me see if I can dig up some pics of Hearst Castle. The pools were gorgeous. Cheers

It's also the highest commercially navigable lake in the world (12,500 ft. above sea level). It's one of the most beautiful places I've visited. If you ever go, make sure you take the Hydro Boat Tour.

I felt the same way about all of the Peruvian highlands we visited. Second only to the highlands in Guatemala. ;)

You got way more snow surrounding Titicaca than we did! We took a little motorboat out to visit the floating reed islands of the Uros and spent the night on Taquile as part of acclimatization for the hike up the Inca Trail.

1) Church of Our Lady before Tyn, Prague, Czech Republic
2) Birkenau (part of a day trip to Auschwitz outside of Krakow, Poland)
3) a Premiership game ;)

One more....

One more for tonight. An aerial of one of my favorite places on Earth - Czesky Krumlov... straight out of a fairy tale...

Here are a few of mine - trying to avoid some of the subjects already listed here :p

The Golden Gate tower

Big kudos on taking subject that has been taken many times and making so very different! I am jealous that I didn't see it my self first! So awesome. I knew at first glance it was the Golden Gate (or I hoped).

Congrats on a image that should have a big spot on your wall....

A great shot. The depth of the image makes us feel as we are there.

Landmarks mean different things to each of us. In your case very worthy for this thread.
