Here is mine, I'm pretty impressed:
Mobile%20Photo%202010-08-18%2021%2038%2014.png

Get my iP4 last friday. Did 2 full cycles (empty until it shutdowns and charge for 12hours) this week end. Haven't plugged since monday morning.

Use:
Mostly Reeder, Twitter, Facebook, AppStore+apps downloads, podcast/music listening and mails over 3G
And few pics, videos, SMS and some other.

I haven't "conditioned" my battery. After about two months, I'm getting about the same amount of battery life as I did on my old 3G - with an important exception. On my 3G I always had Location Services turned off because it sucked my battery dry in no time. On my iPhone 4, I leave Location Services on all the time. So far I haven't exhausted the battery during a full day of use.

5 hr usage 13 hr standby

55% battery, would you say this is normal or below average? At this rate I can't get 2 days like some of you are getting.

It sounds average if your 'usage' is heavy as in long calls, games, video, camera, surfing and constant music but if it's light use then you may have a defective battery like I had twice.

Have you calibrated the meter since you have owned it by letting it run empty then charge it through a wall socket until full? Apple recommends doing this once a month and I'm about to do mine after two full charges from under 15% since it's box release. Last stats was 5hrs moderate usage and 1 Day 23 hours standby - not as good as the first time but then again it still needs 'running in'.

What exactly is light usage? I've been using it almost every hour on the hour but not throughout the whole hour.
-Facebook
-light texting
-open camera to see how ****** it is in different lighting
-some app store

I've turned off push and set fetch to manual for my e-mails and I close all the apps after I'm done with them.

There's your answer then. I have noticed a lot of people who stretch to two days have only about 4 hours usage which means that they're not using the phone as they should do and only 'opening it up from the lock screen to see how much their battery is going'. I have everything on, brightness to the max (with auto) and use it as a phone throughout the day - my imac takes care of surfing and mails while the phone just sits discharging on the desk.

See what a rundown does if you haven't already done that.

my battery life seems alrite i use full brightness and i get nearly 2 days of descent usage and ****

oh so apple suggest calibrating your iphone 4 battery just like the macbooks? Because that is what I do with my macbook each month.. so we should do it with the IP4 as well?

I thought I had a defective model since my old 3G performed quite well and I was getting something similar now, but here are my stats:

71%
Usage: 1:43 min
Standby: 11:21

Manual fetch of email
Notifications: ON
Brightness auto: indoors (around 30% normally)
50% of the usage time was browsing this website, the rest mainly playing the game Osmos.. Two or three youtube videos, no facetime or calling of any kind.
iPhone OS 4.0.1 with Jailbreak
No background tasks running (manually closing everything down)
Wifi: ON (but not really using it)
3G: ON (all data traffic went through 3G)
BT: OFF
OpenSSH daemon running in the background
EDITED: I forgot to add that it is a brand new iPhone, two complete battery cycles so far. This was a straight charge from around 2% for 8 hours long while I was sleeping

Doesn't look too promising. I think Im gonna remove the JB and see if it improves... hopefully.

By my experience and most of the stats I've seen so far, 5 hours usage with 50%+ battery remaining is actually a very good lifetime. I wish mine was like yours...

Are you using the ipod during those 10 hours? I just got back from Apple and I complained about my battery performance of 6 to 7 hours of usage compared to people who were getting 10 hours and they said there was no way people were getting 10 hours of uage unless they were using the ipod function for a good part of the time. I'm in no way trying to question you, but just interested. They said a normal battery cycle should go between 6 to 8 hours depending on what's being used.

Yes i would say about 3hrs worth was using the ipod function on the train to and fro to work and at the gym.

Other main functions include Angry birds, surfing the net and reading ibooks

Ok that makes a lot of sense. Thanks for replying. 8+ hours will ipod function is normal according to the apple genius. Makes me feel better. LOL

liek the above person said..on ebay (must be 18 years or older or have your parents put it up), craigslist. just wondering, how much would you sell it for? i'm thinking about buying an iphone. so yeah. feel free to email me.

I had bought what must be a generic wall charger, that looks identical to my original Apple one, and feel like my battery life is getting worse.

Currently at 5hrs usage, 16hrs standby and im down to 13%.

This consisted of facebook usage, checking email, texting, couple phone calls.

Can using a generic charger affect battery life?

:(

My phone's battery performance is starting to suck - after my great stats earlier in this post. Nothing has changed.

So far, I have lost 7% standby overnight after a full charge and now 3% every 1.5 hours still on standby. And to boot, my usage stats have disappeared leaving a " - " where the figures should be with the message "Usage times will be shown after iPhone is fully charged" - WTF?!
