Opinions?

What do you guys think of this? I don't think it is very good. This is with the phone mostly being on Standby, one or two accesses of facebook and about 20 minutes of Wifi. Everything (3G, Wifi and Location) stays off until I need it.

Should I be heading to the Apple Store?

Hmm, I honestly can't determine whether I should or shouldn't get the battery checked out. I want to say it's only marginally better than my 3g, but I am using the phone more than my 3g as well.

What I'm noticing is that when the thing is in stand by, the battery is awesome. Doesn't move hardly at all. However, using it for things like web browsing, facebook, beejive and nothing really intensive, the percentage drops every 2-3 minutes or so. Does that sound right? My brightness is at 35% or so and I've tried it both with Auto brightness on and off. 3G is on, push notifications are on, and email retrieves once an hour. Here are some quick snaps I grabbed:

You and me both. Some days, my battery lasts forever. I think I had 7.5 hours of usage before I hit 20% remaining. Today, I was down to 78% after an hour of usage. Using the phone makes the battery drop every 5 minutes but standby it sits for 4 hours at 100%. I'm not sure if this is normal or not. I also noticed turning off PUSH email doesn't really make any difference for me. I did restore from backup though. Maybe I need to set up as a new phone and see what that does for battery life.

I'd also like to get some opinions about whether I should take my phone in. The image on the left was my battery statistics the very first time I ran it down. On the right is where I am now during my second charge. To me the battery life seems drastically different but I'm no expert so maybe someone else can tell me. All of this also was after I restored from a backup so I maybe I need to try a fresh install, not sure though.

your stats look perfectly normal to me. i wouldn't say you need to take it in. If you feel you are draining too fast, try turning some stuff off....wifi, bluetooth, turn down brightness, turn off ipod equilizer, push notifications to every hour or longer, etc. the best way to say a bunch of energy is to turn 3g off! if you run edge, youll save a bunch of energy that way.

My battery is getting worse by the day. I'm down to 79% with about an hour and a half of usage on the books. Some days it's at that level after 3 hours. I'm not changing my phone habits at all. Everything is on with push notifications coming in for whichever app asks for them. Do they drain battery even if I never receive data from them?

I'm pretty happy with mine. I can push it just over 7 hours before it dies. Everything is on except bluetooth. 3G, wifi, location all on.

An hour of WiFi has knocked the battery down another 15% with push notifications off. I think I'll set the phone up as new and see if that makes a difference. I may go in to see if I can get an exchange if it doesn't.

Ok, thanks very much for the advice :)

There is numerous bugs and glitches that eat cpu cycles constantly, I have tried making threads about it here and on official Apple forums, but nobody seems to care.

Ah well, Apple ftw eh

Anyone know why my usage stats are blank? I charged the phone to 100% last night while the phone was off. Today turned on a fresh charged phone, and no stat updates all day. Blank spaces.

hi guys. just thought it might help for those wondering why some others have extreme usages and others have lesser ones, listening to music accounts for usage but it takes up much less battery. also, using the phone on wifi instead of 3g may account for up to 4 hours longer usage times so yeah. just to make it a bit less confusing? :S

43%

1 hour, 5 minutes usage
14 hours, 28 minutes standby..

I replaced my phone because of battery issues and it looks like I have another one with a screwed battery..

I spent about 1.5 hours driving to my closest Apple store .. Sick of dealing with faulty crap.

I guess I'll just wait until they ship out the phones with the fixed antennae, then go and get another replacement.

3G ON
WiFi ON
Bluetooth OFF
Location Services ON
Push Mail OFF, Fetch hourly ON.
Auto-Brightness ON, and set at 75%
My usage: Voice calls, messaging, Safari, iPod player,
