Maybe because i am a engineer and know exactly how these screens work. The manufacturer for the screens ( Samsung) have a algorithm for these screens and a SDK for development for the screens for the manufacturers who buy them. Apple is limited on what they can do through software. 😉

Same. Marketing trick they use on the pro models and their use of cheap stainless steel over the regular models 7000 series aluminum. Which is superior. And cost three, almost four times as much. They make satellites and spacecraft out of it. 7000 series aluminum is very similar to titanium. You know the metal everyone is wishing on for the 14. They already have something similar available to them. But, marketing.
That’s not true in the slightest; internal components do not have third party SDKs. All internal components are under the full control of Apple at the silicon level.

i’m not saying i know much about stainless steel but.. i know there are many many versions. to say it’s cheap, i would think of garbage steel that forks that come from walmart..

on the more expensive end, i know knives come in a variety m390, 204p, elmax, s90v , s110v.. all very premium stainless..

Yes it is true. I work on them. Not all componets have a need for software integration either. A 120hrtz variable refresh rate screen does. Never said Apple doesnt have full control or that Apple uses them, but they could. They are there to use. Not that Apple will use them. Its for internal purposes, Samsung offers it to all its partners who buy their panels. You misunderstood my post. I was saying i dont think Apple will do a better job at getting the 120hrz refresh rate to uneffect battery life better than Samsung, you know the company who makes the panels.

Yes Steel is cheap relative to 7000 series Aluminum. Even surgical grade steel. 7000 Aluminum is a more premium metal, costs almost 4 times as much. 7000 series Aluminum is very similar to titanium. There is a reason the Aerospace industry uses it to make spacecraft and satellites. Its strength to weight ratio is only bettered by titanium, which it was created to replace as a cheaper alternative to titanium in the Aerospace industry.

But you’re an engineer and know exactly how it works  🤣
Yes i do. You do not, as what i said flew right over your head. You have no idea of what i am speaking about. It will come down to Apples implementation of how they control the algorithms for the 120hrtz display. Common sense isn't so common. 😎🤪😂

an omniscient engineer! must be a hit at parties 🤡

Really... you didn't say... "Apple is limited on what they can do through software."

That's a lot of backtracking!

Its sold per pound. If you paid 1000usd I dont know what to tell you. A plate for your keyboard?

Stainless steel is almost 60% cheaper than 7000 series aluminum. It is considered a "cheap" metal.

It’s a weight for the bottom of your keyboard, if you go custom. The bottom plate weight and case of all ss was like 1500 usd.

I would think an engineer knows that the abbreviation is ”Hz” not “hrtz”
Yes i do. I also see you have no argument on my saying SS is much cheaper, and are actually a undercover english teacher. That is the best i can do while walking at Disney World. Is that the best you can come up with? Pfffff. 😀😭

When considering purchasing a new phone that you really don't need, it's a good idea to take your existing phone out of its case and admire it. Heck, get out the original box and remember what a thrill it was to unwrap it.

I do this with my 8 Plus from time to time. It's a beautiful phone and it works great. Why would I want a new one?

Learn to love what you have. The road of wants is paved only with more wants. It's also a circular road that leads, ultimately, back to you.
Funny , because I’ve got an 8 plus and to me it’s a design abomination.

Huge great oblongs of black nothingness tasking up the top and bottom , it’s just awful

The notch on anything iPhone X onwards is minuscule in comparison

Then there’s the awful battery life , useless Touch ID etc , I can’t wait to bin mine , quite literally. I’ve offered it to all my friends and family and nobody wants the damn thing 😂 nuff said

How is that backtracking in answering your question? You claimed they didnt exist, i pointed out that they certainly did. I dont see any backtracking of any kind.
You first said:
Apple is limited on what they can do through software.

Then, in your next comment, you said:
Never said Apple doesnt have full control

If Apple is limited on the software control of these screens, then they don't have full control and thus you said they didn't have full control, which you contradicted in your second comment. So, yes, you did backtrack.

The no 2 is the only ones they commission but I’m back on a waiting list since I took too long to make my mind up :(

Looking for something else in the meantime though
Oh sorry to hear. It’s worth taking your time with a commission build like that though. Not as fancy but I have a Rama group buy I’m waiting on…so I should have it by iPhone 16 🤣

(edit spelling)

I thought rama wasn’t that bad, like 1-1.5 years or something
