I am hearing some people say there is no antenna issue .. while there seems to a huge number of people with issue .. post your first 5 digits of serial number. I am sure 4th and 5th indicate the week number. 3rd year ? first two are batch number maybe .. not sure though.

The idea is to see if there is a huge bad batch or set of of batches.
Post serial number (first 5 digits) and also post whether there is an antenna issue.

Since apple is in hiding we have to do all this. Shame on apple , i dont know why such a company is in consumer goods, apple should be doing oil cleanup rather (with flawed machines) .

Post the first 5 numbers !! To see what factory it was made in!

Antenna issue nothing else

Antenna issue and proximity sensor issue. Also I lose signal when its in my pocket.

cool ! thanks keep that coming. I guess as someone pointed out .. looks like i created a dupe thread :)

But anyways for those who still want .. xxYzz is the first 5 digits , xx is the batch number i guess, Y is year so 0 is 2010 and most likely everyone will have digit 3 as 0 for now. zz is the week number.

Go ahead keep posting we can maybe see a pattern. Looks like week 23 , 25 and 26 have reports of antenna defect. 21 seems to be fine. I am more worried about antenna defect since yellowing seems to be a temporary issue it goes off as you use the phone.

So thanks all keep posting.

Week 25. Reception issue aswell as proximity sensor issue. No yellowing of the screen. Wonder what the deal is with the week 21 if it truly isn't affected.

88022 so week 22.

No dropped calls but bars drop to 1 bar from 5 when held the 'wrong' way ie left handed bridging both antenas.

No yellow screen

87021 so week 21. Signal issue yes but no yellow spots. Also it's the earliest phone listed in this thread so far.

Week 23
Reception: yes. Quite bad but no dropped calls yet.
Yellow: no
87023

I think the first two numbers are factory.

86025

Reception issue: no
Yellow dots on screen: no
Proximity sensor error: no

I should explain. If I hold the left corner for about 20 seconds the bars begin to decrease, all the way down to one bar. However, even with one bar I can make and received calls with the clarity as if I had full bars. I keep my phone in my pocket most of the time w/no case and haven't missed any calls yet. This is why I feel I do not have a reception issue but rather an appearance of one.

As for for the proximity sensor, I have accidentally put someone on hold one time but I think that was a case of operator error (me:)). No problems since then.

I hope this helps.

All of the above, all problems listed.

I was talking to someone today who works with some AT&T higher ups, the word is there was a production issue and there is a break on good/bad phones.

The party line is no issue but they will quietly replace phones.

Besides the fact I trust this guys info the big break in between shipping/not shipping products seems to support this.

The big question will be those who's units are shipping July 2nd and after how well those will work compared to early ones.
