"death grip" issue and abnormal signal display issues in which I can swipe to unlock and see 4/5 bars before swipe and in that split second switches to 2 bars

88021

Reception issue (severe...can reduce the signal from 5 to 0)
No screen issue
No proximity issue

87022 (week 22)
Intermittent SIM failure, replacing SIM and restoring to clean OS no help

85023 (week 23)
SIM tray not flush, something inside is rattling

Both have the death grip issue, which affects me only as a curiosity and minor annoyance. No proximity sensor issues. Another replacement is on order, wish me luck

Well, just picked up iPhone 4 number 3. It's factory 88 week 26. So far I can say no camera, screen or death grip issues. Making the trek home now, will post more about low signal area reception when I get home and see how it Does.

no issues thus far. I think the signal went down once when I held it tight, but was still at 3 bars, so I'm not sure. No yellow

84025 (Week 25)

No reception issues.
No yellow spots.
No issues at all.

You have the exact batch and week as I do, and I confirm those statements at all. I originally thought I had some reception problems, but they've disappeared. I can use the phone with or without a bumper. I have one on just to protect it, but I don't need one. Everything else is perfect.

Reception issue: no
Yellow dots on screen: no
Proximity sensor error: no

I should explain. If I hold the left corner for about 20 seconds the bars begin to decrease, all the way down to one bar. However, even with one bar I can make and received calls with the clarity as if I had full bars. I keep my phone in my pocket most of the time w/no case and haven't missed any calls yet. This is why I feel I do not have a reception issue but rather an appearance of one.

As for for the proximity sensor, I have accidentally put someone on hold one time but I think that was a case of operator error (me:)). No problems since then.

I hope this helps.

same here, i would hold black band and bars would decrease but no dropped call at all, even while holding that part for 20 min phone call. shows 1 bar but phone works as it should. i would ask for my $360 back otherwise and get a 3GS again.

80025 no issues at all

actually my reception is better with this phone than my 3gs I have really crappy service in my house and I pretty much couldn't use my 3gs always had to tell people to call the house phone and so far *knock on wood* I haven't had a dropped call or anything

YES:
-the signal issue. I can "kill the bars" and go to "searching" in 5 seconds or less

-the annoying proximity sensor issue

NO:
-Green blob issue
-Yellow spots on screen issue

Not a single problem. This is actually the first phone I've ever bought with ZERO issues on the first one :D

With the death grip it drops 2 bars after about it a minute and stays there. Other that than the phone has no issues.
