it amazes me how many responses I saw of 'how could you cover such a beautiful phone?,' 'why would you buy something so nice just to cover it up?'

do people really buy this based on looks? I don't care what it looks like or what logo is or is not showing (actually I'd prefer it didn't, I paid my dues in buying it, I don't need to offer free advertising) I would think it would be more important for you to want to protect the investment, but maybe I'm the only one out here who bought it for it's functions and wants them to continue to function until my next upgrade...?

I'm still searching for the perfect case...

Got an iFrogz Luxe Original (blue/black) - liked the design of it & the feel...didn't like how how it didn't work with most screen protectors and messed up the flash...

One of my friends picked up the Griffin Reveal - he liked it from the superficial standpoint that it displays his beautiful iPhone, but also protects unlike the bumpers. Turns out it had an issue with the flash, too.

I returned the iFrogz and got a Belkin Grip Vue. I liked this design even more, but as many said, the buttons are impossibly hard to press and the flash is once again messed up.

I haven't returned it yet, but I was running errands and came across an Incipio dermaSHOT and got that. I like it and it seems to work nicely in every regard. The only gripe I have so far is that it's just rather bland and blocky.

Anyway, I'm planning on keeping the dermaSHOT because it at least doesn't interfere with any of the iPhone functions (buttons, flash, etc.).

I know the reasons why many manufacturers have had a few mishaps with case designs, but can someone tell me why it's taking so long for more case designs to get out in the wild?

Also, I know that many of the flash issues can be fixed with a Sharpie, but shouldn't this be taken care of before the customer gets it? Sorry for this mostly being a disgruntled rant, but we're about 2 weeks in and it seems like the same cases that were available during launch week.

here's the white bumper on mine.

I totally understand your frustration. I'm using a black Bumper now, I think partially because there aren't all that many alternatives out there.

Just to give you a litte more hope, Incase tweeted that we would be hearing some information about iPhone 4 cases next week - they've always made pretty decent cases. Hopefully this pre-announcement announcement means their ETAs are nearing...we'll see.

I'm rockin black bumper with phantom skinz matte finish on back and clear on front...i'm lovin it!

hows wrapsol vs phantom skinz? the wrapsol looks just like my phantom skinz matte finish, both look great!

Yeah - it was mostly whining, but it seems like some really nice options are on the horizon.

On the 3GS I had temporarily, I had a red DLO Grafik (sp?) I got at Best Buy for $5...before that, my 2G Touch had the ultra-cheap Griffin Immerse from Wal-Mart (3 silicone skins for $7).

Obviously with a new device, there won't be any clearance or _good_ cheap cases, but this thread has been really nice.

I promise I'll get some shots of the dermaSHOT soon...
