Using a 24" cinema display for the time being, got it super cheap ($100) until the 27" thunderbolt display is released.

Early 2013 13" Retina MacBook Pro
2.6 Ghz
8GB RAM
256GB

Magic Mouse
Apple Wired Keyboard w/ number pad
Western Digital My Passport 500GB (Until thunderbolt becomes more affordable)

How the heck did you get the Cinema Display for only a $100? Would like to know your secret ;).

On a side note OP, this thread should really be moved to the picture gallery forums.

What is the point in having a beautiful retina screen with the lid shut hooked to a big crappy 27" screen? Especially for reading text.

Wow! How did you get a 24 cinema display for $100? That's awesome!

So you kind of bought a package deal and later sold the Macbook 15. Lost 100 dollar, but kept the 24 ACD. Quite nice, but ehm....why buy a Macbook Retina 13 with closed lid?

Because at home I use a display to get work done, and on the road I use the retina display.

I buy and sell apple products to pay for college, and it was part of a deal with a macbook pro 15, that someone was trying to sell.

That's awesome! All I see locally is a 24 apple cinema + 2011 mac mini server for 1500 which is a total rip to buy.

By saying it that way, you're actually saying you profited $180 and a 24 cinema display from two transactions. That's even better than before! =)

I did the same. Bought an iPad for 300 then traded for Mac Pro 2006 then sold it for 900. So $600 profit. I love how old apple products still have value today

Nice, I mostly buy damaged and broken macs, and sell them as is for parts or repair to people on ebay.
