man the bMB is heavy!

In the context of ports, that bMB looks more like a "pro" laptop. Just about every kind of port there.

Headphone jack at the back just seems like a pain.

Just be happy it's on the side now. My first Mac was the PowerBook G4 Aluminum.

I remember when Apple came out with the 12 inch PowerBook. The current Macbook reminds me of it, but alot thinner. You could probably stack 3 of them and they're still thinner.

This reminds me when people in forums discussing about carrying a second or third battery in their backpacks for when they need extra batteries on the go but have no access to an outlet. Airport charging? Ha, good luck finding an outlet. And the battery would last 2-3 hours, 4 if you're lucky with half brightness and everything turned off. No bluetooth, no wifi, no USB devices.

Now, the current Macbook thickness is about the same thickness of the screen on the Macbook in the picture below, Wifi on all the time, and you still get at least 8-9 hours on a Macbook.

I bought one of those Bose a few months ago to use on my treadmill desk. I had no idea Bose were coming out with version 2. Oh well. There's nothing new that I really care for. I was at the Bose store and the associate told me the sound quality is the same, they just added a mic to it for conference calls, buttons redesign, and a new black color. Same price point, $199.

Not a bad buy in my opinion. Enjoy it.
Did you know if you place it near a wall you get even more pronounced bass?

I'm sure I could but my setup won't make that possible. It sits basically in the middle of the treadmill desk.

That's my treadmill, and I have my rMBP sitting on top of this:

The Soundlink sits just in front of it, there's not much of a wall for bass. I don't care. As long as I get sound for music and movies.

The rMBP basically doesn't go anywhere, so the thicker laptop doesn't matter. The thinner MB is for bed and lounging around. If I need more power, I can just remote into the rMBP and get things done. Same for someone who has an iMac or Mac Pro. Just remote into it and let that computer do the processing.

Back to the speakers, I wish I could elevate it somehow. It just sits on the desk. If I move it up to ear level, it sounds much better, even without behind about a feet away from the wall.

Hmm.. Is there a small wall shelf that I could buy?

This should explain a bit (It's the same person):

This thing is great, especially if you live in an area where it tends to snow a lot during the winter.

Here's mine hanging out on my desk at work. Base model silver for me. Love this thing. It's my daily work machine. Perfect for a journalist who needs to be able to carry their computer with them everywhere!
