Small set up for me... Enjoying the MacBook.

Absolutely loving all of these shots. It's an absolutely beautiful machine.

I'd buy one to replace my 15" cMBP in a heartbeat if it could connect to my Thunderbolt Display. Not sure how the GPU would handle that though. May be a possibility in the next revision if the USB-C port gets upgraded to Thunderbolt 3.

As it is, I'm (hopefully) waiting for the rMB-inspired MacBook Pro redesign. Maybe next year...

My crusty old 2006 (original Intel!) MacBook Pro 17"... sings to my new MacBook:

"I will swallow you...."

Sidebar: Loving the new MacBook. No, it isn't the MacBook Pro of today, but it compltely kicks my 17" MBP's ass. That said - My old MBP is a tank... it just won't die! 9 1/2 years, and it's still cooking...

These are all tempting me way too much. Almost to the point of me saying, "Eff Skylake" ... almost.

But you are dreaming if you think skylake will be in the rmb anytime soon. the procdessors you now see are what you are going to be gettuing in the rmb. the airs and pros will get skylake first and the rmb maybe never.

The MacBook will absolutely gets a Skylake update, it just probably won't happen this year. The next MacBook will probably support ThunderBolt 3 and be an even more dream machine.

What? The processors should be ready very soon. Why would they never update it? Makes zero sense.

The only reason they wouldn't get SkyLake is if the next new chip generation is released before they update the MacBook. That is very unlikely. Macs aren't constrained to yearly update cycles, I'm hoping they update it before I plan on buying one early next year.

There's zero chance they won't get Skylake. The Skylake M chips will be much smaller and allow more room for battery. Apple will jump all over that to further bridge the gap with the Air so they can kill it sooner rather than later.

Not much difference in size at all. Battery & internal config will remain the same.

I bought an original Macbook air in 2008 when it first came out and they released a refresh about 10 months later. I don't think they will wait a full year before making a refreshed version.

BTW, the first air cost $1800 or $3200 for the SSD version, so I consider the 12" Macbook Retina a great bargain in comparison.
