Commiserations… That must be a pretty nasty condition to live with.

Thanks - it is definitely nasty. There is never any such thing as silence.

Almost any music is better than none, as music helps to mask the incessant high-pitched tone. The best way to describe it is like listening to a film or a TV show just after a stun grenade has been thrown.

I say almost, because some music is still arguably worse :)

To everyone who does not have tinnitus: never be afraid or embarrassed to protect your hearing. Always use earplugs before exposing your ears to loud noise (gigs, etc). Whatever the nature of any loud sound (favorite band, etc), listening to it without using earplugs is NOT worth a lifetime of noise that can never be turned off.
