Here's what my dictionary says about haiku: " 1) a Japanese poem of 17 syllables, in three lines of five, seven and five, traditionally evoking images of the natural world. 2) An English imitation of this."

Ok, here's my English imitation:

Oh I have no way
to describe the cardinal
but he defines red.

And shall we do them all in English here? Thanks in advance to all you writers of Japanese for graciously catering to people like me whose knowledge of kanji, hiragana or katakana is thus far limited to admiration of assorted textile designs.

Not mine but I like them.

Whoops, here they are.

The lady that I like
is very unlady like
Yet, perfect for me

and the Fight Club ones from the novel

Even drones can fly away
The queen is their slave
