HAHA I loved the cellular one car phone! When I got my new jeep, I went to cingular to see if I could get an added line on my bill and the phone re-connected. They laughed at me and I walked away shamefully.

I had a brick noki
Tiny Sony Ericcson brick style
Samsung Slider, something like p777?
Samsung slider number 2, the one currently out for cingular
iPhone.

Nokia 3395:
NOKIA-3395.jpg

Then I broke that one and got another. Then I lost that one and got some Siemens cell phone ... it had a black and white screen, was super small, excellent battery life.

Then I lost that one. I think I dropped it in a lake when we went water skiing ... I really don't know where it went.

After than, I got a Motorola V560:
motorola-v560-1.jpg

Then I broke that and got a Nokia 6320:

Then I got a Nokia 6682:

So many other "smart" phones since then...running my BlackJack in tandem with my iPhone right now until I get a good corporate email solution for the iPhone.

Not sure of the model off-hand (at work) but I'll edit this when I get home and can find it. Anyhow, this is my first cell phone...it was through Alltel and my plan had a whopping 50 anytime minutes (nothing else) and costed a cool $20 a month.

I remember thinking I was extra rad with the pleather slip case with the belt clip, and I PROUDLY displayed that sucker on my belt. At work, in college, oh yeah...I was the MAN.

Thank goodness for the iPhone.

My first phone was actually a carphone, installed in my Mustang GT back in 1988. I believe it was with SBC Cellular.

My dad had one of those big huge brick phones he paid like $1500.00 for, way back when.

My first was a Sprint Samsung SPH-N200, like the one below, but in silver.
h2.jpg

I followed that with a Sprint LG TP 5200.
h15.jpg

Then I got rid of Sprint, and cell phones for awhile. Joined up with Cingular and had the Nokia 3560 for about a month...

...before switching to the Sony Ericsson T616.

Then I went with the SE w600i.

I broke that one, and got an SE w810i...

My next phone was this one -

My phones have always been pretty bland. As you can see, I have been unsure about brand loyalty...

EDIT - I am noticing a surprising lack of former owners of the Nokia 5110.

Mobira Cityman NMT-450. Also with that I had an ARP (AutoRadioPuhelin - finnish for CarPhone) that was the leading network technology in Finland in the seventies.

Then a few NMT-900 phones (including the legendary RinGo, Ring-and-Go, one of many Nokias concepts) in the nineties.

RinGo:

I currently have seven GSM-phones in my desk drawer and before those ... Well, maybe ten different types GSM's. And now waiting for when the iPhone comes to Finland.

If not this model, my first phone was very similar to this one. My second was a bag phone as well, but it was just flatter and about the size of a book. It had a zipper to close up the bag. Next I graduated to the very thick Motorola flip phone. Finally I wasn't tethered by a cord and a bag. Many phones later the Motorola RAZR was the last phone I had before purchasing the iPhone.

Nice! I would sooo pay to have one of those (and connected) today. I don't mind that in jest either. That phone is hot. in a retro style.

Wow, some of you folks are cell phone sluts. :p In 15 years, I had 3 phones. The iphone is my 4th (and last). :D

If I didn't miss any, the iPhone is my 9th since 1994. The iPhone has been the biggest upgrade both cost and feature wise. Worth every cent though.

Each time I got rid of a phone, it was because for a good reason. The first, long story, I was required to sell. The second andthird, I switched carriers because I was having service issues and could not take my phone with me (GSM to CDMA to GSM). The current will get replaced eventually, right now it just shuts off randomly.

Does anyone remember having to turn your phone in? I think I had to turn in my bag phone to GTE when I swithed to AT&T and got the Motorola flip phone. My mom was paying the bill for the bag phone, so I don't know if the phone was rented or what.
