13" MBA: 1.8 / 128GB / 8GB RAM
less than a week old, one battery load cycle as of 6/23/12

current capacity: 6616 mAh (98% according to coconutBattery)
design capacity: 6700 mAh

Just to let you know people, my capacity reading keeps going up, 5 cycles in. It seems to be a meaningless reading, but i wonder if there is actually any true variability between different batteries?

Air 11" / i7 / 8GB RAM / 512 GB SSD : battey 4848 mAh

I'll use my Air without power supply mostly for surfing over Internet and note taking during classes.

Right now, I'm getting extraordinary performance for a 11". I was waiting for 5 hours but here are the results :

- with WiFi on and basic Internet surfing : 5h
- without WiFi just for note taking : 7h

I can say that's really very good for my needs :D

13" - Full charge capacity - 6666 mAh

(Also, just because the mAh increased, doesn't mean that what you did caused it to happen. Correlation ≠ causation! Don't fall victim to confirmation bias.)

13 mba 6400. that was the number new too bad it was at 95% before any cycles.

new battery looking weird

Hi everyone. Just got my Macbook Air 13" like an hour ago, there are some things I'm a bit concerned about...

Concern #1
Plugged it in and immediately got a green light. Unplugged, plugged back in, still green. Left it plugged in for a bit but no change, started up the computer.

Went through the basic setup and as soon as I got to the desktop, checked my Power under System Info.

Cycle Count 0
Fully Charged: Yes
Charging: No

Concern #2
Full Charge Capacity 6507
Charge Remaining: 6218

What's up with that? Straight out of the box and supposedly fully charged, yet my remaining charge isn't up to its full charge capacity?

Check the battery health using istat. I had a 13" that right out of the box had a health of 78%....apple replaced it and confirmed the battery was defective. Granted yours is 96%, which is completely normal

Read post #20.

Oh okay thanks guys. It was more the immediate green light that threw me off, and made me think it might have a problem fully charging or something since I expected it to be red for a while till it completed its first charge according to all the info I read. Still kinda strange for it to arrive fully charged, no? I thought they were supposedly shipped at 50%

I have seen them come both ways. My 13" came at about 50%.....my 11" came closer to 90%

They usually come partially charged, but not charged to any specific percentage.

11" 2012 -- 8 cycles, 4750mAH max

It also seems in my uneducated anecdotal experiences that products closer to launch (especially iPad / iPhone) have a higher charge than items later in the cycle.

For instance, my new iPad came 97% charged out of the box from FedEx on release day. My iPhone 4S, bought last March, had ~55% charge.

Totally anecdotal, like I said, take with a lick of salt. :D
