4G LTE from 2 years ago on an XS

Not sure how you guys are getting those speeds. I go between 3-6 Mbps. Occasional I get 10-20. But it is bad where I am. And much slower than my 11 from last year. Makes me have second thoughts on whether to send the 12 back. And keep my 11.

Edited to add a couple of screenshots of when I got higher speeds. But those higher speeds are rare for me. And by higher. I mean I usually top out at 20 Mbps.

5G is obviously not in your area yet.

Don't send the 12 back just because you live in a non 5G signal area.

Drive to the city - see if you can find a mm Wave tower and you will be amazed!

I guess my point is. I did not expect this blazing fast speed everywhere. But I would expect that it would at least be as fast my phone from last year. In downloads. Both my LTE tablet and 11 from last year are faster. So that is my concern. And real world test. I constantly get a spinning wheel when streaming anything, music, shows, movies. It is perplexing.

You should switch your phone to 4G LTE only which will still get you faster speeds on the newer modem hardware in the 12 (Qualcomm).

So I'm on T-Mobile too. I live in Powder Springs and saw the same issue with LTE vs. 5G is slower. According to their Twitter, they said they're still building it out. Umm, they just announced they turned everything on so it didn't make sense to me.

Tried that. LTE only gives me even worse speeds. I mean, downright laughable speeds.🤷🏼‍♂️

Verizon. Really it has been perfect with all my previous iPhones. Till the 5g one. I really don’t know if At&t or another provider would be better in my area for 5g. Cause both Verizon and At&t say I am in a 5g area.

T Mobile currently has the best coverage for 5G.
They took over the Sprint towers and repurposed them for Sub 6 (low and mid frequency long range) as well as mmWave (24-28Ghz) short range towers.
