This thread it pointless. It automatically assumes that everyone's battery is calibrated correctly. If everyone set a timer and ran from 100-0 then that would be better.

No joke my early 09 MacBook says 3+ hours when fully charged and don't last but 1 they likely add an hour off the top just to get that WOW factor for the people that have kept up with the (time remaining) But test will prove it and I would like to see

35% charge with 2 hours and 20mins remaining. up by almost 2 hours compared to what i got with ML

That looks like the remaining charge time. 2013 MBAs should easily get 8+hrs on 84%.

My early 2011 13" MBP gets 5.5hrs with a few background apps and Chrome browsing, and 6.5hrs with Safari browsing. That is roughly up 40-70min increase. Looks like Apple lived up to their "additional hour of browsing" promise with Mavericks.

That assumption is not without good reason. All modern Mac portables, dating as far back as 5 years, ship, and have shipped, with fully calibrated batteries.

Nope, that was the remaining time, even now at 98% it says 4:20

Not true. Batteries from newer portables do not need to be regularly calibrated. This is right in the Macrumors Battery FAQ, under "Calibration of newer unibody models" section.

Unless you have wildly irregular usage patterns, whereby you're not using your Mac for month+ at a time, or keep it plugged in for weeks at a time, calibration is not necessary.

Interesting. Under what usage is that? Are you using resource intensive applications/plugins?
