7 hours: browsing the web on wifi, bluetooth off, 4 stripes brightness

(sometimes it indicates 8 but mostly 7)

four stripes of brightness? good Lord, I couldn't see the screen with it being that dim. I have to have mine at 100% just to be comfy.

I guess that's one of the joys of getting old. lol :D

Brandnew 17" uMBP - only 5 hours on gentle wireless usage!?!?

I'm getting 5 hours doing nothing but email and some browsing. Mildly disappointing...Is my battery broken? Shouldn't I be getting 8 hours?

With my 15" MBP (see signature for specs) I get around 6-8 hours while surfing and listening to music and maybe word processing. I let the computer automatically adjust the brightness, so that is why the time varies so much. The lowest life I've gotten is four hours. That's when I'm installing programs, running Parallels and doing photo editing and stuff.:) It's awesome, and I'm more than satisfied with everything about this notebook. (I better be. It's 2x more expensive than any other computer I've ever gotten!):D

First day after charging it I got a full 6 hours out of it.

Now, less than a week later, I just finished charging it (full charge) and its telling me 2 hours 38 minutes, wtf?

the keyboard is only on the 3rd lowest setting and the screen is at exactly half brightness. Any ideas?

I only have safari and mail open.

Edit: It seems to be majorly in flux, probably because its so new, it shot up to 8:23, then 5:30, and currently at 6:45, whoops, 7:04.

calibrate it and that will help

Just did it today. Let it run down till it wouldn't turn on, let it sit there for five an a half hours, then did a full charge while leaving it in sleep mode.

Seems to be settling down a bit, luckily well above the 5 hour mark :)

uMBP 17" (Jul '09) Coconut output. Not sure why the "original" capacity was so much lower, but it would explain my earlier post in this thread...

did the calibrate to my battery the correct way this time, and now my battery charges at a full 100% and the Mah are close to 6000 on my MBP 13".

excellent battery life

I have calibrated my battery and adjusted some settings. Once its fully charged i am able to do about 6 hours of work with photoshop, iWeb, and mozilla all running. :D
