Delivers: Oct 31 - Nov 7 (hoping for sooner, obviously!) :cool:

I went with the 250GB HDD as 320 is way more than I'll use but I still wanted the speed. In doing so, I saved $50. I'll go buy myself a nice case now. ;)
Any better estimates on when I'll get it?
 
got to my office this morning, and the prettiest brown box was waiting for me

just wanna tell u guys to hang in there, as im typing this, all the pain of waiting last week or so has been totally forgotten :)
 
Mine says that it "Departed FedEx Location" in Anchorage at 4:47pm. Does that mean it's on a plane bound for California (it's ultimate destination)? Or must it still clear customs? It seems like it should already have arrived in California by now, but the tracking website doesn't indicate that.

Haha well mine says 4:48pm. It's going to Indiana. I imagine its going to your regional hub. I think intl release is customs.

Yeah I don't think the package tracking is very accurate.
 
Awesome well it got in indy around 1:48am. I live around 45 miles south.

I don't see any reason it can't be delivered tomorrow morning. Although it hasn't left the Indianapolis airport though...

Yeah, but if it's not on a truck for delivery by now then you you probably missed the cutoff for today delivery. That royally sucks because it sounds like they have no intention of being early for you. =( Sorry man. It will be the happiest Monday for you though - what a way to start the week, right? (think positive.)

I see a lot of people ordering the 320GB @ 7,200rpm. Why? Why don't you downgrade to 250GB and for $109, you can buy another 320GB drive online, and $20 or so for an external enclosure. By the time the laptop arrives, you'll have 2 drives, one for the laptop and one for Time Machine.
 
Geez all your guys' MacBook Pros are coming here to Indianapolis. Hmm, I live 10 minutes from the regional hub, maybe I should go test them out for you. :D

That exactly what my thinking was, so I ordered my 2.5GHz with the 250GB drive, as 320GB is way more than I'll ever need. I'll use the $50 for something else.

I got mine this morning -- I almost missed FedEx too... I was in the shower.

When I woke up at 7:30, I was very disappointed to see that it wasn't "out for delivery," because I know they usually go out very early. So, I called FedEx because it said that it was at my local hub. They said the shipments had yet to be unpacked for the crates, so that it wouldn't be arriving until Monday.

Imagine my surprise when I heard that knock at the door!
 
to everyone who's waiting impatiently: mine was sceduled to arrive between 29th and 30th by apple and ups delivered on the 23rd after a hold up in their sorting facility. your mbp may take a lot less time on it's journey to your arms than stated by apple. ;)

for what it worth: priceless...

Just couldn't believe it when I called the craigslist ad offering a current model MBP for sale for 1600 and then this guy showed up with brand new sealed MBP in his hands. Thought it was a brick (really) inside. :) Turns out this guy wants cash instead of MBP as a gift...

Now I have to sale my 17-inch MBP/4GB RAM with applecare from last Oct... if any body is interested... :D

Changed from "Not Yet Shipped" to "Prepared for Shipment" earlier today.
Anyone know what that means and roughly how long it'll take? 10 nov seems very long?

gotta question kids, say i order a new base mbp next fri. Whats your guestimation on when i would recieve it? Going back home for thanksgiving and i wanna bring it with me.
 
I Ordered On The 17th and they still haven't shipped it yet... i'm so anxious that i have a tab open all day with my order status and refresh every 5 min... i called apple today and they said it would be out today which wasn't true, or monday... maybe it's because of the ssd or the iwork, maybe even the 2.8Ghz...But I know it's worth the wait:mad::eek::rolleyes::D
