Indeed, a Sad Mac! :(

Call me sappy (I know I am) I could never think of throwing away any of my Macs!

I feel the same way, I have a few non-working Macs in my garage that people keep asking why I still have them and all I say is that I plan to fix them...some day;) I also forgot to mention the Apple IIc I found still in the box at a church, they were going to throw it away, I saved it. They also tried to give me an old Atari computer, I turned it down.

IIc in box - awesome! Is it complete? The Ataris are also worth something... Just got from eBay an Atari 800XL in box missing only the power supply and TV switchbox - both of which I have somewheres....

I found a PowerMac 7100/80 for free today on Craigslist. Will be picking up later tonight or tomorrow morning.

Free stuff is good.

Free stuff is good! I got some stuff free from a guy on Craigslist too last year. Oddball stuff such as an Apple Macintosh SE PC Drive Card in box. No PC drive though. haha

Free stuff is very good. I might in fact sell this machine, but I first have to find our how much it is worth.

Well if you get anything let me know, I have 10 of them in my garage. Actually I think they are 7200's

It is a revision one (early) mac plus. If you do a google image search for mac plus you will see a few of these.

Here is a shot of the tag on the back of that system.

I have a mac plus like that but its a 128k upgraded ... thats what most mac pluses with out the mac plus on the front are.
But my mac plus cam in a box full of all sorts. The original apple modem, imagewriter 1, Heep of cables and software & a apple HDSC 20. i got it all for £0.99 ( About $0.50 ).
I also got a IIci for free off Low end mac.
awaiting on my power mac 7500 which i got for free.

Actually, 99 pence is about US $2.00. But still a great deal!

I found a Color stylewriter 1500 lying in the hallway at my University's music school. I took it, since it was sitting next to the trash and was obviously for disposal! :)

Also, a friend of mine gave me a Powerbook 1400cs/133. He worked for my University's tech dept, and the laptop must have been some professors, ages and ages ago. He claimed it "didn't work," but I found it would boot, but didn't have an OS on it. Got an OS 8.0 disc from a friend and I'm up and running. RAM is maxed out and it has a 1GB hard drive... Pretty good for free! :)

That must have been a fun trip home. Those suckers are heavy! :p

Did you take that picture when you found it (You carry a camera while riding your bike???) or did you do a reenactment!!!!:D :D :D :D

I got a B&W G3 powermac for free from a friend. Now all I need is some OS X CDs and I will set it up as a file and print server.:D

Do auctions count?

The Mac Plus second to the left, I've had for 20 years.

A 7500 that seems to be only used for a very short time. They installed some sort of school software on it and put it back in the box. The case and insides are amazingly clean!

Not pictured:

2 B&W G3s
3 CRT Apple Displays
Couple of broken iMacs
An old Sony Trinitron video editing monitor

It was more of a school auction. I was the only person bidding on Macs.

I remember going to a school auction when I was younger and not a collector, I wish I could go back in time. It had a wall of compact Macs I swear it was 6 foot tall and 12 foot wide! and they had a few Mac XL's  :(

8 years ago an old friend, who works for a school - they were dumping their Macs! He did save for me a few Classic II's and a really cool IIfx, which I understand is rare...
