On your unibody aluminum macbook

I just got one, a smaller. Not to sharp dent on my mbp earlier today. I don't have a camera or my phone so I cannot snap a shot.

Just curious to see how many others have dents and how they feel it effects the build quality or if aluminum is just soft.

I don't mind it because it's on the bottom of the laptop.......but still hehe:(...:eek:
 
used to have rev. A Macbook Air, rev. B Macbook Air, 2 computers of 15" Macbook Pro Unibody, and now 17" UMBP. lucky me never had a scratch or even dent before.

this unibody construction is totally awesome.

OP, I have a small dent above my headphone jack on my unibody MBP. The finish is perfect, it looks like it might've been bumped before it was anodized.
 
I have all sorts of little dings and scratches on my MBP... is it just me, or is everyone too concerned with keeping their computer pristine to use it.. I will post dent/scuff pics when I'm finished moving.

Some of us like to keep them pristine to help retain resale value.
People who sell and buy a new computer every 2 years are concerned with maximizing their return from the original purchase.
 
My old MBP had one small dent under the FW 800 port (wasn't big enough to damage port). My current MBP has no dents. This one i have been overly careful with and it almost always sits on my incase unless it is sitting on my MStand.
I keep it nice just because I like keeping my things nice and looking excellent.

I'm not "too concerned" but after paying 2,500 for this laptop, I want it to stay mint as long as possible. there are good reasons for keeping dents off the laptop, apple denying applecare service is a big one for me.

"Oh I'm sorry your laptop has a teeny tiny dent on the case so we cant honor your applecare and replace the logic board, SORRY have a nice day".

Even if you have no intentions or aren't currently planning on reselling your computer any time soon, its a good idea to at least make sure that you take care of the thing. I mean, its not any different than if you have a car and want to keep it from having dings and scratches even if you plan on having it around for a while. Regardless of whether or not it works inside, its always nice to at least be see that your computer is looking nice.

i got a dent in my smacbook. its size is 10nano meter. here it is in microcospic view zoomed in at 400x.

No MacBook, but enjoy the slight dentiness of the back corner of my PowerBook!

Sad enough, this is prolly the most on-topic post in this thread :p
