I was thinking, I haven't seen a lot of peoples work as of late besides iweb templates and problems. So I propose a thread where you show off your work :D

Show us the website you're most proud of, that you've designed :D

Very impressive portfolio chicoweb! I might need to talk to you.

Not sure if I'm proud of this but I did design it.

http://www.fosterhydraulics.com:eek:

Actually, if I was a contractor I'd want to visit a no-frills non-cluttered site like yours that gets right to the details with a simple photo, a great sales zinger at the top and easy to follow sensibly organized links on the left panel.

In terms of target audience, purpose and context, they layout is right on.

The only changes I would consider is a slightly more advanced logo in the masthead (a little color wouldn't hurt, it gives the impression you simply scanned some black and white company letterhead, i.e. not much thought went into it) and maybe add a company motto or a brief one line business description just below that to explain what you sell and to whom you sell. And if you can afford it, do a 360 degree scan of each major inventory item and allow people to view it and zoom that way, using Flash and special photograhic techniques. That's the only "cool" stuff necessary on your site in terms of bells and whistles that WILL not only wow visitors but be extremely useful as well. Users bookmark sites like that, your sales will increase.

Otherwise, bravo on what you've done so far.

You need to fix the sales pitch on that, it should be:

If you're looking for a Hydraulic Power Unit or a Hydraulic Press, you came to the right place.

Grammar is very important on commercial websites.

I second this. Between both the apostrophe mistake and the question mark, it is very distracting and makes the company look bad.

Good catch! I still like the layout though!

@Chicoweb - I checked out your site in your sig here and was impressed, but one thing bothered me. You know how you have the nav bar repeated as a dividing bar between each section? The first time I visited my brain told me that first divide was the the bottom of the page. The footer. You should note many studies reveal users focus more on the content area and less on the browser scroll bar so that's easily missed. I would suggest either removing those divides and simplifying the home page or at least changing colors and including only the area name with the red background, or whatever else you might consider. The nav bar at the top and the first divider seemed to "frame" the content in between, as if header/content/footer/end of page. In terms of colors and design, first rate work, of course. Golf clap. :)

Changed, thank you. I just copied most of the text from an older website and didn't really pay much attention to grammar.

The Logo I did scan from a decal. :D I agree it needs some updating.;)

Thanks guys :)

If we are going to be even more correct, the end would read ", you have come to the right place."

Whew,,,,, tough crowd;)

They are painting another machine now, I'll have the opportunity to photograph it from several angles and do a little playing with Flash. Should prove interesting.;)

Hi all,

i'll toss my hat into the ring with this effort http://www.control.exac-one.co.uk/Products/Trailers/Diga_Bara/index.html

Not a web site at this stage, just a web page. Nowing that i'm a bit of a hobbyist, the guys I work for asked me if I wanted to have a go at a new site for them.

I've never built a site before and have no design experience whatsoever.

This first page was constructed to establish the concept and there is a long way to go from here.

The only input that I received was that it needed to have simple navigation.

The page still has a few quirks to iron out and I know that the css needs a little housekeeping, but there is enough there for you to get the general idea.

Comments welcome.

I would, but I think this site discourages linking to porn, especially homemade;)

I'll spare everyone the boring little stuff I've done, and give you the good ones.

http://www.ryersonformulasae.com is a website I built with Wordpress and modified an existing theme. It's probably my best one.

http://www.wesg.ca - my blog sort of builds on the RFSAE theme, but makes it more blog appropriate.

Of course, I'm more into programming than design. I'll leave the design to my family :D.
