I thought it was "MacRuman"....

New poll: how may people wrote extra neatly, knowing others would see what they'd written?

Edit: clearly not dogbone. ;)

I actually tend to write a little neater if I am not just throwing down something to post on the net.

Or you scan what ever is handy as you can't find any paper to write on.

Anyways, here is a page of some notes from a class I sat in on a couple years ago.

I'm not going to translate... but this does show why I rarely shared my notes with other students.

It's a little hard to decipher, but that looks like Linear Algebra to me. Am I right?

It is Riemannian Geometry... the notes are the start of a lecture on connections (covariant derivatives) on tangent bundles. Tangent bundles are manifolds created by taking the collection of all tangent spaces to a given manifold along a collection of points.

The point of looking at tangent bundles (and more importantly, connections on tangent bundles) is that it has historical references back to the original techniques used in finding covariant derivatives on surfaces which gives you the intrinsic curvature of paths along the surface (classical differential geometry).

-Sorry, most likely too much info-

Actually from a hand writing perspective, this wasn't that rushed. I was sitting in on the course, I had taken it originally back in 1992 and had been doing research in that area until 1997... so there is actually more on the page than was being brought up in the lecture. Though I hadn't noticed what I was scanning in when I posted this.

Like I said, I didn't share my notes with people too often, so I usually wrote for my audience... me. :D

Vniow, your handwriting is THE MOST difficult to read I have ever seen. Good that we have to type on here!

Wow, that's great, a marriage proposal on a mac geek website. And you made it so personal in your own handwriting too, I mean, who is more awesome?! ;)
