It should show your deductable on your statement sheet. Every six months you should get a statement sheet along with a bill for your insurance. If you can find a statement sheet, call Allstate up and show them proof. Jesus...$5,000...that is crazy! BTW, Allstate is a horrible insurance company to have insurance through. They are on par with Safeco. I would drop them and go with Costco insurance. If you have a Costco close by, sign up and get your insurance through them. They have never given me issues, or lied to me, or forgot my deductable, or sent me false info. Allstate sounds like they are trying to screw you.
Since you said there was mold already growing, make sure your insurance company has a certified mold abatement company come out and do the work. If you want to save your house from becoming a sick house, I suggest you demand a certified company come out. Some contractors say they are certified and have no idea how to abate mold properly. Just be carefull and keep an eye on what those guys are doing. Ask a lot of questions. If they do not abate the mold properly, your house will become a sick house and you will get sick. These guys should be cutting out drywall and removing your cabinets, to get under and inside to abate the mold. Jesus, I wish you luck buddy. It looks like you had a bad flood. I just hope the contractor does a good job for your sake.
