This is my first iphone/jailbreak as well! I'm very glad I jumped in

I used www.jailbreakme.com to jailbreak (This will not work if you updated to 4.0.2).

You'll need to use Cydia to install winterboard, an app that allows you to apply themes. The lockscreen theme can be downloaded here: http://www.mediafire.com/?fg67lmsm85mxc7w. You'll need to SSH it to your iPhone, so you should read up on how that works.

The anonyma app is amazing. I've had it since it came out. Quite possibly the best app out there, you can browse more than one chan.
