Just type the apple char (Option-shift-k) on your computer and email it to yourself then cut and paste on your iphone as needed.

Those are Emoji. If you don't have the toggle on your keyboard, you will need to buy an app to toggle it or if your phone is jailbroken, download on Cydia or Rock.

Those are emoji.

I used these steps to install emoji when I had my iPhone 3GS (free):

1. Install Spell Number app on iPhone

2. In Spell Number app, enter these digits: 91929394.59

3. Close app

4. Go to Settings > General > Keyboard > International Keyboards > Japanese

5. Enable Emoji keyboard

6. Delete Spell Number app

You should see a new Globe icon on the keyboard (next to 123 button). That takes you to emoji!

When I upgraded to the iPhone 4, all the emoji came with it.
