Those are emoji. :)

I used these steps to install emoji when I had my iPhone 3GS (free):

1. Install Spell Number app on iPhone

2. In Spell Number app, enter these digits: 91929394.59

3. Close app

4. Go to Settings > General > Keyboard > International Keyboards > Japanese

5. Enable Emoji keyboard

6. Delete Spell Number app

You should see a new Globe icon on the keyboard (next to 123 button). That takes you to emoji!

When I upgraded to the iPhone 4, all the emoji came with it.

Well it looks as if things are vastly different on the new iphone. It gives me 2 japanese layouts but no emoji option

Here is mine. Nothing fancy. I had been using the default iOS water-bubbles but decided to go with the Apple logos. :)

PS yes this is but a mere iPhone 3G 16GB which I've jailbroken and unlocked. Wallpapers, multitasking, it all works -- and pretty well.

I see a ton of you have the apple logo as a character in folder names. How? (I'm on win7 not osx if that matters)

I'm a Windows user... how can I get the Apple logo to copy/paste into a folder title? Thanks :)

Edit: Nevermind, thank you, panoz7!
