Don't like the icons with this wallpaper/dock combo. Suave HD is terrible on iPhone 4. Looks like I will store this combo for later use. Thanks for the dock murdercitydevil.

You're welcome. But the icons in your picture aren't Suave. Your personal preference, I guess. BTW Suave HD isn't any different from the original one. It looks just as good on the ip4 I think, just higher res. If they're sized properly, there are no ugly borders or anything like that. Here's what mine looks like, for instance (horribly unfinished, of course)

i cant seem to get mine looking like that..

Ahh I guess I need to make myself crystal clear when I post! I realize the icons in my pic are not suave. I've tried suave hd icons on my phone and they show a black shadow when pressed. Maybe I am doing something wrong, I would love get get suave working correctly. I am dropping the suave icons in using iPhone explorer. I will not install winterboard, so maybe that's my issue?

The issue i'm currently having is that the bloody wallpaper wont match to the dock , i don't have a clue what everyone else is using..

From what I understand, it is /possible/ to get Suave looking like I have it without using Winterboard, but it would be a huge pain in the ass. The main problem with Suave is that its icons are smaller than the standard iPhone size, don't ask me why, that's how the theme creator made it. This wouldn't be an issue normally, but something with the way iOS4 handles icon masks, specifically the ones on 3rd party Apps purchased from the app store, makes the borders stand out like a sore thumb. The way that I and many others got Suave HD looking the way it should is by

1. Replacing various icon masks/borders/overlays etc with custom made ones in Bundles/com.apple.springboard

2. Taking those aforementioned 3rd party Apps and resizing their Suave icons with a special psd template created by a member of Macthemes, Justin R. It essentially moves the icon down and right several pixels so that it effectively covers the black border that used to be there.

The reason all this is necessary, I think, is because Winterboard requires a long overdue update to accommodate for "unique" themes like Suave. This 2 part approach is a temporary method until Winterboard gets updated.

So, in short, yes it's possible, but you'd still have to resize certain icons, and you'd have to replace /system/ files by overwriting the existing overlays and masks.

@ trayanscragg Read my post above. Everything you need to get Suave looking right is in the main thread over on Macthemes. http://macthemes.net/forum/viewtopic.php?id=16804800 It's a long ass thread by now though, so searching it is a pain. If you want, I can send you my version of Suave with all the necessary fixes, but it only has icons for the apps that I use, and that means any additional 3rd party apps you get will have to be resized with the psd that I mentioned above. I'm going to bed, I will try to help you guys out tomorrow.

EDIT: Last edit, the reason your dock isn't matching the wallpaper is because the original screenshot's wallpaper is in non-retina size. so when you put it on an ip4, it gets stretched, and the upper part of the dock no longer matches it correctly. What we need is someone to find the original wallpaper and resize it properly for retina dimensions (or even better would be to just make a new one, doesn't look too hard, just a gradient with noise)

Thanks for the info, sounds like a major chore. Guess that's what off nights are for!

Actually, most of the work is done. The latest release of Suave has all the necessary overlays and masks finished, as you can see from trayanscragg's screenshot (I assume he just got it from Cydia), so stock icons look perfect. It's the third party apps like Facebook that have borders, and they need to be resized. It really doesn't take long, but I guess that depends on how many apps you have.

Thanks for your reply. Regarding the wallpaper i cannot really edit it or make a new one for the retina display as i dont have photoshop on my macbook right now so if anybody comes across anything similar please share it with us. Cheers

Whats the fix for the oversized shade when you press the icon? Someone posted a solution which I tried and it didnt change (he made a custom shade and said to replace the system one but I did with no luck).

The second solution was to remove the shade altogether but I'd rather not. If theres no other way its fine, it doesnt bother me too much.

That's the issue I was having. The shadow when pressing an app. How did you remove the shade altogether?

o get rid of the "press shadow". Do 1 or 2 not both.

1. Navigate to system\library\coreservices\springboard.app look for a file named IconDarkeningOverlay@2x.png rename it with a 1 or _alt. This will remove the press shadow completely and will make the app press animation look kind of funny.

or

2. Download the file below and place it in: theme name\bundles\com.apple.springboard. This is a resized image to match suave icons. This fits the request icons almost perfect. But the stock icons like safari, phone, mail etc.... are off by 1 pixel bottom and 1 pixel left using my file below. All i did to fix this was open the app icon file i.e mail.png in photoshop and move the image, not the canvas. Up 1 pixel and right 1 pixel, it doesnt look perfect but pretty close.
I followed #2 with no luck, #1 removes it.

This is what I have so far but the wallpaper isn't full resolution really... Not quite sure how the Suave theme works right now, but the Wallpaper.png in Suave HD.theme is not full resolution.

That looks awesome . Did you just Photoshop the box around the icons or is it the wallpaper and also what theme are you using ?
