Nothing to be ashamed of! It's an easy way to make bread and there are a huge variety of recipes out there so you won't get bored with your machine. If you decide to try hand made bread again, I would suggest using this recipe from King Arthur Flour (I would also suggest their flour, as it is always good quality and works with any recipe I've ever used).

You could also use this one in the picture (they keep updating the recipe on their site for some reason. This one is about 10 years or more old and came from a bag of their flour.). I have used it and made many, many loaves of sandwich bread with it. It's really easy and practically failure proof!
I don't know if you have one but a kneading hook on a KitchenAid mixer makes everything bread go much easier!
