C7 Corvette wide bodies (Z06 and Grand Sport) are known to have crappy wheels that are prone to cracking and I just recently became the latest victim -

Didn’t want to replace it with another crappy stock wheel so I upgraded to set of forged monoblock wheels made by Forged One and had them wrapped with Michelin Pilot Super Sports -

This warning bell had to be replaced in my car. There was no hazard bell, no turn signal clicks, no seatbelt warning bell. I kind of liked the silence but for the sake of inspection I got a replacement speaker for the center of my dash. took me about 20 minutes to switch them out. longer than I anticipated but its done now and all my warning bells are dinging again. This speaker was separate from the radio speakers. I know older cars used to have a relay for the turn signal clicks and dings but it seems now the newer cars use an actual speaker. I never thought a speaker could just stop working like that but it happened and now it's fixed. fortunately I didn't have to take the whole dash apart. it was just an annoying speaker grill cover that took some man handling to remove it.

The chongus card + water cooling.
Gigabyte OC 4090 + EKWB Quantum Vector2 Master Water Block.

I am a water cooling guy, and it was interesting I was able to grab both of these for less than an air cooled Strix.
Either way. I'm good for quite some time on the gaming front.

I've always been a custom loop water cooling guy, but I went with closed loop AIO's on both CPU and GPU. It was actually my first time using AIO's. With how huge cards are getting, I'll be going back to custom loop water cooling. If you can, could you please let us know how much space you save lengthwise after installing the block?

Will do, I won't get the block until mid-November.
EK doesn't have that specific block ready on launch day, so it is pre-order.

EK shows the specs of the block

The card goes from a stock length of 340mm to 272mm
75mm thick to 27mm

So a fairly significant decrease in size once you remove the air cooling.

De8auer went over why the cards are so giant and why the wattage 'scare' was a thing.
Originally the 4090 was going to use Samsung and 8nm again, all of the AIB partners had those specs to start getting ready, and this summer, nvidia swapped the TSMC 4nm which dropped the power consumption and heat output significantly but the AIB partners were essentially already locked in with the previous specs given to them.
Bad thing the cards are huge.
Good thing, they stay very quiet and cool even at full tilt.

Thanks... hope to see shots of you build in the future. That's pretty much in line of why EVGA dropped making nvidia AIB cards... because of not getting enough info from nvidia. Pretty sad... I miss the days when nvidia used EVGA to manufacture their reference cards. Waterblocks were more standard, easy to get, and EVGA honoring cards under warranty even after a waterblock is installed. I'll miss EVGA's warranty and customer service on their GPU's... but now I'm wondering if Microcenter's replacement and protection plans covers GPU's that had a waterblock was installed... but with the stock cooler reinstalled.

Yes, I have been relatively an EVGA only GPU buyer for...heck I can't even remember how long.
3000 series I have purchased 5 EVGA and 1 from nVidia. Skipped 2000, 1080Ti was a FE and EVGA, 980Ti'swere EVGA and so on but YES - yes, completely agree with you.
I have been a K|NGP|N "fanboy" for decades so that dates me quite a bit. Wondering if he goes somewhere else or that whole thing is just dead with EVGA.
I do have his motherboard for 12th gen. In part, I hope he finds further success elsewhere, or maybe he is hanging up the crown.

After seeing many of the 4090's performing practically exactly the same, I just found the least expensive one still in stock and then water block just because, that is pretty much what I do on personal builds, it will be on water as long as I have the ability.

Sorry to all others for 'hijacking' for a few posts.

That really sux, anything from GM on that? Did they offer you anything?

Also, for reference until I can get the pictures.
My current case is the Lian Li 011 Dynamic XL.
With 3090 Kingpin Hydrocopper in it. That card is total 289mm long.
So the 4090 stock with air cooler is going to be 2 inches longer.
Then roughly 1 inch shorter, once I get the EKWB water block on the card.

The Kingpin has the 3 8-pin power cables coming out from the very end of the card, so I don't see any issues with this particular card fitting in my case, as it is oversized.

I do have all 3 sizes of the 011 Dynamic... funnily enough we call them poppa bear, momma bear and baby bear as I have the XL, my wife has the normal midsize, and my son has the mini.

So I will get some photos of the stock 4090 with those cases to give ideas of what might fit.

The photo shows near the end of the build, I don't have any pretty glamour shots, but it shows an idea of how much space is after the end of the cards, and that was SLI vertical mounted 3090 KINGPINs and there is still quite a bit of space in that particular case.

GM has been fighting tooth and nail not to compensate us. Very few have been successful but the class action continues to roll on!

I like it a lot. Was going to skip this year coming from the AW SS S6 but caved after seeing it in person. I appreciate the size, the battery life, and the fact that it looks more like a real watch than a smart watch.
