Multitool ahead of some planned DIY this summer.

When a specific need arises there is no better tool for the job. Often left and ignored on the subs bench for most of the season, but then comes on in the last minute of the Championship final and scores the winning goal.

Got it from Amazon for $75 with same day delivery... it's a little slow to connect, but works well after it connects.
I snagged a few of these for all our vehicles--I agree...slow to connect, but then it works well. Honestly, usually by the time I start the car up, put on my seatbelt, back out of the garage and driveway and get going down the road, it has connected.

Prior to getting/installing the CarLinKit dongle, the map in Waze would randomly freeze at the place where I was when I started my truck... since getting the dongle and using it, that has not happened once... fix or coincidence? (Leroy Jethro Gibbs' rule #39 = there's no such thing as coincidences).

Really stings paying 1300 for this. But i'll have to suck it up in exchange for retina without the weird scaling you get with 4K monitors...and speakers.

*sigh*

Apple quality can sting when we pay for it, but that is usually it. Then we can delight in the quality.
You will be happy with it!
With cheaper brands, it’s the other way around.

Probably the best decision I have made within the last year from a large purchase standpoint.

The crispness, size, and quality has upgraded my work days and ease of use with built in camera/mic as well. Enjoy!

Agreed. Yes there hundreds of cheaper full-featured 4k monitors. But as aforementioned, the scaling is off.

If i'm logical about it, there aren't many true 5k monitors to begin with. And the ASD is arguably the overall best.

Gives you true retina, incredible build quality, and some extras (speakers and camera) (albeit subpar quality with the latter).

Would've liked HDR or 90hz refresh rate, or mini-LED but then that would essentially cannibalise Pro XDR display sales.

Also the Thunderbolt display was 999 back in 2011. Accounting for inflation, the ASD is basically falls in line with standard Apple display pricing...even if i don't like it.
