I sold my 3G yesterday and asked my only friend with at&t if he had an old phone I could barrow for a week.

It just happened he still had his old cracked 3G, so I still have an iPhone while in limbo, it just has a cracked screen. Touch still works fine.

I've heard both answers, but the fact that no one could 100% confirm it wouldn't happen, I'm just going phone-less.....which SUCKS.

I was going to pop my sim card into an old, old nokia until I read a post on here. A few people lost their unlimited data plans because they weren't using an iPhone. An AT&T rep told them they have to pick one of the new plans when/if they purchase the iPhone 4. Just an FYI. I'm not sure if this is true or not, but now I'm too scared to transfer the sim.

Gah, that sucks so bad. I wanted to use one of those trade-in programs, but every day, the prize goes down like mad. Gazelle is only shelling out $222 for a 32GB 3GS, whereas it was at $304 like two days ago.

omg mine is definitely the worst! its a CHINESE iPhone mini, possible the most difficult to use phone out there. my friend bought one while we were there and when we got home went out and bought a 3gs.

some people have claimed that it did, it didn't for me though. However, I will not take this risk again.....next time around I am just gonna sell the iPhone after the new one comes out. I ordered the 32GB for $299
