Those are pretty solid speeds for the speedway during a big race. The other carriers are barely usable during those events. Really surprised at how fast the HSPA+ is.

Barely getting 1.5 down now on HSPA+ in the same spot as the one above in the parking lot. Lovely rain.

Got these speeds this morning in Abilene, TX.

I wish the US carriers would correctly identify as 3G and 4G in the status bars like it appears most European carriers do. But then again, I also wish more than just T-Mobile had the same speeds the European carriers have :D

Vodafone AU: Perth

Best I've ever got is 164 down, 52 up.
Average is around 80 down, 35 up.
Home wifi: 8 down, 0.3 up (thanks to Telstra only offering archaic ADSL1 in my suburb).

Charlotte Motor Speedway during the lap 25 caution (or safety car for you internationals :)). T-Mobile holding up well. Having their antennas (I'm sure they're theirs) on the scoring pilon helps.

Agreed, especially with T-Mobile allocated its 3G resources more for 4G LTE.

How do you know they're T-Mobile antennas (serious question)?

LTE at Jacksonville Landing during the Donald Trump rally. Thousands packed into a small plaza. Data held up fine. Bars varied between 1 and 5 despite the signal being -79dBm most of the time.

Salt Lake City. Something is seriously wrong with At&T here.

To both of your questions, carriers already do. AT&T will show 3G, HSPA+, and LTE. Verizon and Sprint show 1x, 3G, and LTE. Who combines 3G and 4G?

All the major carriers also have the same speeds as Europe. Verizon gets upwards of 75-150Mbps, AT&T gets 100+, and Sprint has even had high double digit numbers.
