How do you like having a 40" TV on your desk as your monitor?
It's not a TV, it is a monitor. http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/philips-bdm4065uc-40-inch-ultra-hd-monitor,4302.html
I love it. It is one of the main reasons I bought the MacBook Pro rather than an iMac to replace the Mac Pro. I didn't want to give up the 40" screen, but I didn't really have room for a 21" or 27" iMac to sit beside it. The option of portability is a bonus, the extra cost is the downside.
First photo I have of my setup since I have moved home
MacBook Pro Retina (late 2013) 13"
Apple Wireless Keyboard and Magic Mouse
empty iMac 24" as a Monitor for the MacBook and sometimes a PS4
Here's my little home music/web studio...
This. Is. Incredible - Are those Klipsch RF speaker towers?
Man I miss my Roland V-Drums
Yeap, I had those speakers hooked up to my home theater system back when we had a rear projection TV... after moving to a plasma many years ago we switched to a soundbar so the Klipsch were just sitting in my basement. While they're not ideal for music production, they still sound pretty darn good!
The drum set is the original TD4 kit. While not overly impressive on their own, I have the MIDI hooked up to the iMac running Addictive Drums 2and it's a totally different experience. AD2 really is amazing and it ties in with GarageBand and Logic. The SPD-S sampler pad is just silly fun!
So quick question how does the dock work. Can you get a fully charging 15" MacBook Pro through that thunderbolt 3 dock without having to plug in the apple charger?
They charge via the thunderbolt 3 dock that plugs into power.
Yes, I've had the MacBook Pro for almost 2 weeks and I'm yet to plug in the apple charger. The dock keeps the battery fully charged. I should really test the apple charger just to be sure it is working before I need it, as I will most likely use it when traveling etc.
Am I the only one that thinks the rug next to the outlet is a fire hazard?
Yeap! I don't if it it's a rug, but whatever it is should not be next to the outlet that way.
I would take that Airport off the subwoofer.
Perfect so the dock provides the enough 85W needed to charge the MacBook Pro?
I've had problem wanting to plug into monitors directly, but non of the monitor son the market at the moment provide enough power through the USB-C to charge the 15" MBP.
So glad you're not my neighbor. If so, I'd be sueing you for creating a terrible fire risk just one door away.
My MacBook Pro 13" 2015 complete with retro-style wallpaper...!
One of my favorite macs. I had the 2.33ghz model with 3gb ram which I bought in 2007. Literally traveled the world with me without a hickup. I did love that keyboard but my 2013 macbook pro's keyboard is amazing. I can't say the same with the new macs
Two of my former Mac Minis that I sold popped up on Craigslist today so I bought them back. One is a 06 Core Duo and the other is a 2009 Core 2 Duo 2.53Ghz, 8GB Ram, 500GB 7200rpm HD GeForce 9400M.
My current setup, need to clean this up a bit. Currently using the Mac mini dual display config from my signature, plus a 2012 maxed-out MacBook Air. New additions include a new gen 4TB WD My Passport and a WD My Passport SSD.
With a different mood lightning:
I don't own one, but I love the white MacBooks. They still look great even today, imo.
Updates are iPhone SE has been replaced with AirPods, and have a Belkin wireless charger for my 8 (not shown) and a bitchin' globe I picked up today:
love that globe!
Updated my "battle"station at work. Maybe someday I have time to actually finish my station at home...
