Am I the only one who hates Ikea lamps because they use European bulbs, and around here I can only get European bulbs AT IKEA and IKEA bulbs suck? I'll never buy lighting from Ikea again!

Why exactly do Ikea bulbs suck?

They're a really nice light actually, not bad for only £4.88 each

Can you tell me which ones they are plese?

Right. Which is why I said 'around here.' I'm not completely sure if it's easy to get European bulbs in America either. But around here, nobody but IKEA carries them. Plus, they don't bother delivering them. You've got to go to an enormous linear furniture store to get them.

The filaments break after maybe a month or so for me. At least the 40W E12s. I use them in a lamp I have next to my desk. Have to replace it every month. Meanwhile a 100W incandescent that I have in a $5 floorlamp in my common room has lasted a good year or so. Sometimes it's left on for hours at a time but it keeps on chuggin'.

It is a stand I designed myself that will be marketing in the very near future. What you see is just a prototype. PM me and I'll let you know when they will be available.

Apologies for the quality, the iPhone isn't the best in the dark. Just purchased the shelf and the lights from Ikea and I think it looks fantastic.

My mostly shiny-black stuff setup is complete.

That's about the best I think you can do in a dorm room, haha. Ignore the obviously retouched/blurred out areas.

This is all hooked up to an aluminum Macbook that's sitting in that drawer... Just a rough going through of it:
- Altec Lansing 2.1 Speakers (square thing under monitor is its volume control/adjuster/input/output)
- Samsung 22" Monitor
- Logitech DiNovo Mac Edition Wireless Keyboard
- Logitech MX Revolution Wireless mouse (Thing to the right of right speaker is the recharging dock)
- iPhone 3G Dock (painted black for great justice)
- 750gb LaCie External HD
- XTrac Ripper, aka "Gratuitously Large Mousepad"

I'm a little bit undecided whether to buy a new Unibody MBP or perhaps the new iMac upcoming on 06.01.09 (perhaps).
Hard decision, cause the hack is running really good...
