I put the printer on the opposite end of the table - it's behind the 23" LCD - and brought the Power Mac from underneath to the top. I think I'm getting better reception with the antenna where it is. The same keyboard and mouse control the PowerBook when needed by way of a Belkin USB switch. I've gotten distributed processing in Compressor working between both computers - it probably shaves 15% off encoding times.

Looks like you need a new mouse. ;)

Very nice.

Why not.

Heres my setup from last semester at school. Ill have to post again when I move back into that house.

Yes, those are bunny ears. I had no cable, but needed something so I could still watch TV with my Alchemy TV card. And yes, crates. College is fun!

Perhaps an Apple Mouse and Keyboard for the Dell iGary? Or at least remove the Apple mouse pad from under that hideous Dell...

If you got a sweet wireless logitech keyboard and mouse for that Dell, iGary, it would look 10x better. Either way, though, I don't think that the dell monitor takes anything away from the Apple setup. The setup as a whole looks better, to me.

Why do you have the Power Mac on he desk and the Dell on the floor?? :D :p

Who wants a ugly Dell on their beautiful desk. Let the Dell get the fuzz bunnies and leave the PowerMac on the desk for all to admire and stay away from the carpet.

I was kidding. I know the purpose of it. I too have my Power Mac on the desk, but I (fortunately) don't have a PC to speak of.

How would I go about getting a single image to span across two displays like that?

by taking a whole image and cropping it down the center and using the left / right image accordingly. (they go in separately)

Yup, or off center in case your two displays aren't identical. It just takes a little careful work in Photoshop to do that. Of course it helps to start with a really high resolution image. Attached below is an example, scaled down from 1920x1200 for the left and 1600x1200 for the right. edesignuk adapted the original image to span his two 20" displays. I found the image somewhere - if you search the forums you could find the link to the original file.

A good source of dual-monitor desktop images is www.mandolux.com.

Yes, I know what he meant - he led his wires so they don't get all tangled and "visible". I'd like to do the same to my cables, and that's what I'm asking him, what does he use to/how did he lead the wires.

Off topic:
Relating to that, how do you all keep your systems so clean. I've tried it all. First I thought well, being on the desk = less dust. That didn't help. I had all 4 case fans blowing in so to create a "positive case pressure" so the dust wouldn't settle and come ut the big hole in the top. Well, whoever told me to do that was a dumb ass. I'm tired of cleaning my pc out every month, and have to because its a clear case. How in the hell do you keep em so clean.
