Mine takes about 35 seconds to boot and 4 to shutdown...

(But I prefer to wait until they become cheaper than "regular" drives)

Just tested it today. My Intel iMac takes 28 seconds to boot, measured from chime to login window.

this is average of 10 tests.

max shutdown 5.6 sec

Single Quad at 2.93, 3.3 TB data storage on three disks, ATI Radeon 4870 EFI card.

1min 19secs. shut down from no apps running 10 secs

boot after the all apps open shutdown 51 secs. boot after no apps shutdown 35 secs

MBP 15", 2.8 C2D, 4 gig ram, 500Gb hdd 450Gb used 50Gb free.
