I am bored and interested to see what people have as a background on their PowerPC machines. Please keep it SFW.

Okay I'll start :)

Might want to recharge that battery. Also, you should rename the hard drive.

I cant its a bad battery and I don't like changing it because it looks very uneven and weird if I do, not much of a fan of doing so but I do every now and then. You should post your background.

This is not current, but my desktop does not change - much.

This is the desktop for my 1Ghz PowerBook G4 17":
• Geektool
• Yahoo Widgets
• Simple Clock
• and the music player is PowerPC, but I forget the name of the app at the moment.

For which computer? ;)

I will later, right now I am away from home.

Wow very customized this was the cool stuff I like seeing.

You might enjoy this.

Geektool desktops. My original one is on page two of that thread. There are lots of cool desktops in there.

What version do you use? When I added the preference it showed white when I clicked on it. Im running tiger thats probably why.

Edit: Nevermind I got a modified 2.1 version that disable core image making it run faster.

It's Geektool 3.x (something) I think. Try this version. Keep in mind there was a GUI change between 2.x and 3.x. 3.x is a PITA, but it's much simpler than 2.x. You might want to pull out your engineering degree.

Work G5.

Left screen and right screen (I have dual monitors).

Ok Ill look at it cause I opened this one it works but Im lost after that.

You are the second person in this thread to have a HD name of "UNTITLED".

Why does it bother you so much?

Lastly…my 1Ghz 17" PowerBook desktop now.

Notice the bar at top is gone. I had to take that out because it was causing Geektool to spike my CPU.

Oh…and the music app I mentioned earlier. That's Bowtie. Version 1.3.1 The latest (1.5) is Snow Leopard only.

I'm using Bowtie with the DSW (Do Something When) pref pane. When I open iTunes, DSW kicks in and opens Bowtie. When I quit iTunes, DSW quits Bowtie. This is cool because it means I don't have to remember to open/close Bowtie and I don't have to leave it running either.

Here's my iMac G5. Also attached is the image I'm using - it's the linen pattern that Apple has been using recently in much of their software. I quite like it. It's subtle and understated, but still less bland looking than a straight color. Tile it and it'll look great :)

does anyone know where i can get this dock? if it exists...

EDIT

Anyhow, here's mine. Simple, didn't change much. I wanted to use the dock i was asking about + darker linen wallpaper, and glowing circles for drives with geektool and maybe something else, but without that dock i just don't feel like doing much...
