Here are my two machines:
Late 2013 13.3 rMBP (512G, 2.8, 16G)
Late 2012 13.3 rMBP (128G, 2.6, 8G)
Just wonder if u actually feel the difference in speed in daily task? I have the 2012 one, wonder how much difference the 2013 is.
Good speeds. Just a casual question what kind of endurance does this drive have or whats the p/e cycles.
Does it display this info in your SMART attributes? Like how much data written and p/e cycles. The sandisk 512gb flash i had on my early 2013 does not have these attributes perhaps you guys can check with smart utility.

Nice -- You got a wicked fast SSD there, even compared to other 1TB rMBP's!
Yeah, I'm still scratching my head on why my 1TB seems to be faster than the others

Normally the bigger size SSD are faster, the difference isn't much but if you compare most 128gb models vs 256gb you see a decent increases.

Should a 512GB be faster than a 256GB? I recently got a mid-2013 MBA (I know this is the MBP forum) with a 256GB SSD, and it happens to be the Toshiba model rather than the Samsung model. I'm only getting speeds of 500 write / 600 read, which seems to be slower than the 700/700 speeds I've seen in reviews.
Both the MBA and the MBP use the same PCIe technology, right? Curious if I'm getting shafted to the tune of about 30% performance with the Toshiba SSD in my MBA.
Not to mention, the last round of MacBooks that had Toshiba SSDs had recalls due to high failure rate. http://www.geek.com/apple/apple-recall-macbook-air-at-risk-of-catastrophic-ssd-failure-1574292/
Are you sure yours is a mid-2013 Air? As far as I know, the mid-2013 Airs only use SD0256F or SM0256F.
The SD0256F gets around 700/550 MB/s and the SM0256F gets around 720/660 MB/s in reads/writes respectively.
Toshiba SSDs were used in the Ivy Bridge mid-2012 Airs. If yours is a mid-2012 Air, the speeds that you posted are normal as it's a SATA3-based SSD.
To confirm your Air's model, go to → About This Mac → More Info.
