I'm not happy. My MacBook had an LG Phillips display (9C5F), but while it was at the Apple Store having the hinge fixed, they managed to crack the LCD. Of course they replaced it, but with a Samsung display (9C5B).

So it has pretty much gone from the best one to the worst one... The colours with the default profile are worse, but the main annoyance is the much more obvious dithering.


I forgot how to pull the vendor codes for displays under OS X.
System Preferences - Displays - Color - Color LCD - Open Profile

Scroll down to row #13 - 'mmod'

The screen in my SR Macbook is terrible. Changing the gamma to 2.2 and upping the contrast a couple of notches helped.
