I'm looking for ideas for my wireless network's SSID.

I'm thinking of CIA Operative. What are yours?

HEY! That's been mine for years now! Pretty sure I posted that somewhere on here once a while ago.

Anyway, I've since changed it to "Unknown Error".

That is a title of a record from a Chicago/Cincinnati based hip-hop group called "Glue"

my SSID is: The Death Crusade. No real meaning, I just wanted something so when people look at it, they say 'who is the hell is the death crusade?'

Holy cow man

but, OnTheOtherHand

“Death does not concern us, because as long as we exist, death is not here. And when it does come, we no longer exist.”
- Epicurus

Yeah right

HockeyNet

I'm thinking of changing it, as I made that when I was in about 6th grade. But I really like Hockey.

Bourne.

I used to have three things setup. My wireless internet was The Bourne Identity, my wireless speakers were The Bourne Supremacy, and my wireless printer was The Bourne Legacy. I didn't realize at the time that they would name it Ultimatum.

Anyway, now that I don't have the printer anymore, and I ended up making my network invisible for a while, it was a pain in the butt to type out "The Bourne Identity" everytime, so I just reduced it to "Bourne."

The honest truth though is that if you want the most security, name it something long and lame, like i292jh3kl1289hkkda39. That way, it doesn't look appealing at all to anyone, and if a piggy-backer was looking for a connection, they would take the one with a simple more attractive name, naturally. CIA Operative is attractive. :D

My SSID is currently "Get your own WiFi", after having some fat slob across the street mooch off my signal last summer. Came as a shock when I launched iTunes and found someone's shared library in my sidebar navigation. I quickly password protected my network and changed the SSID, ran downstairs and peered out the window to see some huge guy hanging out the window shaking his makeshift antenna around to get signal again. Loser.

This begs the question: If you didn't want anyone on your network, why didn't you lock it down in the first place? In essence, you were broadcasting a signal to the guys home that said "open network right here, please connect!". I always look at open networks as.... well, open for anyone to use. If the owner of the AP doesn't want outsiders to connect to his network, he would lock it down. Right?

As to the subject at hand.... I have two: "Siilinkoto" and "Siilinkoto-n", for my older G-network and newer N-network. "Siilinkoto" meant "the hedgehog's home" in Finnish :).
