Something my friend likes to do is take photo's of different places and get them blown up or printed onto a canvas and put them up in his room.

I'll see if I can get some pictures.

My dad's a printer and about 10 years back he went to a big printer party event thing. Anyroad he came back armed with loads of extremely fancy posters. My fave was some anime pic (which I'm not normally keen on) of Alice in Wonderland but it was really vivid, really good and such.

Only I have no pics :( but they were ace. And this post was pointless without pics

I got a pretty nice, huge Pulp Fiction poster from Blockbuster, framed and all for $40. That is the most expensive one in the store, so if you're looking for nice framed pop culture posters that are inexpensive, I'd stop by Blockbuster.

I got this one:

I've been browsing boarding-school and college start-of-year poster sales for 6 years now so I have a ton of posters, in varying condition, from cars to movies to babes. Along with my world maps, this is easily my favorite:

Clever use of the letter "N"
*Delete political rant that I originally wrote*

I say the OP breaks into an Apple warehouse and steals all the old MacWorld and WWDC banners.... oh the temptation.

OH and ivtecDOu
your violence towards dogs saddens me.

I agree

I think a map of the world is a must.

Another cool one is the upsidedown map of the world.

But who I am to say which side is really up.

Awhile back we used to have a national geographic map of the world from 1974. Kinda cool looking at which countries existed and which didn't. And the Soviet Union took up quite a bit.

Landscapes and cityscapes are always cool.

Your own photos and artwork are always good conversation pieces.

If you're an Olympic fan, see this. I think they're on sale in the official shops, if not they're in the streets of Beijing (aka when no one is looking... naa, kidding). Last time Athens was selling official posters, I'm sure they would too.

Find something that's "you" and decorate your walls with it.

For me? I bought a cork board, and started putting concert tickets on it. When it gets full, it'll be a nice look back on every good show I've been to.

For you? Only you can decide.

I have a ton of ski trail maps and old lift tickets that I stick to the walls of my dorm rooms...nice addition to mass produced posters, along with a 5'x4' reflective orange 'ROAD CONSTRUCTION -- state liability limited' sign as well. :D

NSNick, bravo on the Nixon bowling poster.

I used to have this poster

and it was huge. Travolta and Jackson were at least life-sized... was awesome. Too bad it got all beat up...
